General paintings legend:
I received my inspiration from nature. The Eastern Brown snake is one of the most dangerous snakes we need to be aware of, and although we should step back when we see them, there is so much beauty in them as nature painted these snakes with more than one pattern. The Spirit of the snake should never be forgotten as if we will be ignorant to them and their surroundings. We may get hurt. As I see it, creatures like this are reminding us that no matter what people think, no matter how we are calling ourselves ‘the most powerful species on this earth’, we are only visitors and guardians and should behave as such, or we will get reminders from creatures such as this beautiful snake, that the truth is hidden somewhere else.
Depicted here is the skin of Eastern brown snake which when placed flat, from top to the bottom of the snake, we will see amazing, almost mathematical patterns. My painting is to honour this connection and Spirit of the snake, so when he will come across our people or playing children, it would rather choose a different pathway as the reminder to those who are trying to destroy our lands.
